The Kentucky Onsite Wastewater Association (KOWA) was organized in 1995, as a non-profit corporation. Its purpose is to work toward the establishment of uniform standards for onsite sewage disposal systems; compile and disseminate information affecting the onsite industry; education the public on the value of recycling wastewater and the need for adequate onsite systems; protect the environment of Kentucky by assisting the development of sound practices; unite industry professionals in a common organization; and promote ethical standards for the guidance of members with each other and with the public.
